About the Programme

What is the Grenadier Graduate Programme?

The Grenadier Graduate Programme has been created and designed for motivated individuals that have a desire to start a successful and rewarding career in real estate. We have taken the risk out of real estate by providing you with a salary for the first 20 weeks while you’re mentored and professionally trained for residential sales.


Powered by the South Island’s largest and most successful Harcourts franchise, we know what it takes to succeed. We offer unparalleled training, knowledge, support and leadership from the best in the industry.


The Grenadier Graduate Programme is for a period of 20 weeks and is available to anyone new to selling real estate. The first 10 weeks are based at the Grenadier head office located at 98 Moorhouse Avenue where you will train alongside other like-minded Graduates with our in-house, highly skilled and experienced real estate trainer.


You will spend the last 10 weeks in your chosen office shadowing the office manager through a multitude of hands-on transactions, attending weekly sales meetings and familiarising yourself with the area as well as the processes and procedures of your office.

Who qualifies?

  •  Those new to real estate sales
  • They will display a positive life attitude, a proven aptitude for business as well as being an articulate and confident person

  • They will demonstrate a high level of values and ethics, resulting in trust amongst colleagues and clients

  • Applicants may have already established themselves in other careers, be it sales, a trade or profession

  • The applicant may have recently completed tertiary training, be ready to take on a new challenge as a second career, or have proven themselves as a self-starter on the sports field or through their involvement in community events

  • Applicants must be over the age of 18 and should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit

Please note, if you are selected for the programme, you must complete your real estate license (at your own cost) prior to the commencement of the programme

You will be upskilled with ongoing classroom and office training and development giving you the confidence and the means to succeed in real estate.

As a Graduate, you will be invited to attend our national end of year conference. The conference is a celebration of your successful first year in real estate and a fantastic networking and learning opportunity. There is a collection of industry leading speakers and trainers from New Zealand and abroad sharing their secrets to success in real estate. This is a must attend event in the annual Harcourts training calendar.

Your Support Network

Grenadier Graduate Manager
The highly skilled and experienced Grenadier Graduate Manager will be with you the entire way through the process. They will assist you with building your personal business plan for success and help guide you through all the basics and beyond.

Your Office Manager
Your Office Manager will also be supporting you throughout the process, especially in the last half of the programme. They will assist you in finding your first listing through to closing the deal and every step in between. They will continue to mentor and support you well after the course concludes as you become more established and work to grow your business.

Dedicated Administration Team
At Grenadier we have a knowledgeable and helpful administrative team that can provide all the day-to-day support you require – from booking ad campaigns to organising and designing marketing material for your listings and much more.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do applications open?
Applications are now open for our upcoming intakes.

After I submit my application, what is the process?
Interviews will be conducted with applicants. Following this, if you are shortlisted you will be invited to a panel interview. Successful candidates will be advised following this.

When does the grenadier graduate programme begin?
The upcoming Grenadier Graduate Programme will commence in January 2020.

Do I need any real estate experience to apply?
No, it is preferable that you don't have any experience in real estate. This programme is open to those who do not have any previous experience in selling real estate. How many graduates are there in a class?
Up to fourteen.

How long will it take to begin selling real estate?
As you will already have your REAA license and qualifications prior to beginning the training programme, you can begin selling real estate straight away under the supervision and guidance of your manager.
